No. This wood comes from trees that are more than 100 years old and cannot change shape.

What’s ONYX?
It is a silica-based mineral, often transparent, with concentric lines of various colours.

Vegetable ivory, or Tagua, comes from a palm nut. It is made of fruit that – when dried in the sunlight – hardens and acquires the texture of true animal ivory. The Tagua is then skilfully sculpted by hand; each item is unique. The craft is useful for the conservation of the tropical jungle’s ecological system.

These objects are made from PALO FIERRO or "Iron Wood" (Latin name: Olneya Tesota). The tree, of the Fabaceae family, grows in the SONORA desert in northern Mexico. It is an evergreen that can reach a height of 9 meters and a diameter of 2.5 meters. Each Palo Fierro item is hand-crafted and unique...
